Then. Circa 1976.
Now, July, 2011.
A lot has changed in 35 years.
Since the top photograph was taken, my dad and mom had four more kids. My dad bought a miniature farm, began getting revelations from God that tipped my mother, my sister, and me upside down; lost his first wife to cancer, his second wife to a horrific car accident, his third wife to Alzheimer's., and was abused by a home-health worker.
One of these days The Jason Show will focus on exactly what it was that God revealed to my dad.
For now, my dad struggles in his battle against Parkinson's Disease, and continues unsteadily down his Idaho Highway.

I am sorry he has had such a hard life.
That breaks my heart.
Praying for you as you are starting back to school soon, right?
Wow, your dad has had some life.
Man, the things that go on in our families...the more I learn about my own makes me wonder how I survived at all.
Sorry you had these bumps along the roadway of life.
Wow, to lose all his wives to such horrible things is awful. But what an awesome picture of you and him now.
Wow, he has certainly had quite a journey. Amazing that he was able to make it through all of that. I eagerly await the story of the revelations.
Gosh, how awesome that he's still here to tell the stories...you should get him a biographer and write a book!
He has been through a lot that is for sure.
I pray that heaven has a nice comfy spot for him one day...he deserves that.
Your family story is an epic--a sweeping saga. I hope the story of his life contained some happy chapters as well--the photo of you and him together would seem to indicate so.
Such tragedy in his life, and yet you are still there for him. That must be a comfort - and you should be commended for your care and support, since I know life wasn't easy.
I heard once that if you accept that life is hard it gets easier. What do you think?
In the old photo, compared to today, you look like your pops, Jason!
Awww - I do love the photos, though.
Keep it together, my Friend. I need you to stay strong so that when I'm going through something similar, you can walk me through it.
I'm sure I know nothing about what you're going through but if you ever need to talk, I'm in the book. m.

Why God allows such challenges to fall so heavily on one person? Yeah I have that question in my life, too. LOVE LOVE LOVE the photo of you and your dad, then and now. You are lucky to have each other.
This life's journey is something huh?
You look so happy in that picture with your dad. Full circle moment, baby!
What a difficult life.
I would love to know what God has shown him.
