This episode of The Jason Show was recorded on January 2nd before a live studio audience.
Around here, the only way you can tell that it is winter is that the leaves have fallen off some of the trees, and the turtles are not as visible.
This is the point where I removed my jacket. I was wearing shorts.
You can actually see the rays of sunshine. Wait. I said that already, didn’t I?
The long, hot summers here are oh so completely worth it.
The long, hot summers here are oh so completely worth it.
This is where I stopped in my tracks and recalled the time during my last winter in Logan, Utah. I stood in the 4 degree darkness on a huge pile of snow that I had to climb over so I could plug in my car in order for it to start the next morning, and shouted “GET ME OUTTA HERE!”
Oh, looky. Here’s a reminder or two that Christmas really was just a few days ago.
Is that a snow plow I hear? No, silly, it’s just a street sweeper.
Ducks in the pond quack a happy song.
Is that rain? Not even. It’s the sprinklers.
Diego dressed himself today.
My cap says “Norwegian Dream.” I’m not Norwegian, but some say I’m dreamy!

Exhibit A in why I'm not leaving SoCal any time soon!
It's supposed to be -10 tonight (that's without the windchill).
I'm going to pull up your post again tomorrow and try to soak in the warm sunshine through the computer screen.
I can see why you love it, especially coming from Utah's climate. My dad is getting to be a bona fide Californian - and he's a native Washingtonian (and Gregg is starting to make similar noises, but he's not retired yet). You can really get used to that beautiful sun! So glad that you enjoy and appreciate it.
P.S. Love the hat. We live in a Norwegian town. What's the story?
We have long, hot summers in Georgia AND we have freezing cold. So not fair.
Ack!! I was getting sweaty just reading this! I'll keep my windchills and single-digit temps, thanks. It sure looks pretty, though, so thanks for sharing. ;-)
(OK, seriously?? Today, I got "dingly" as a word verification. I've gotten some really goofy ones lately!)
Oh.My.God! Why do you torture me? It's something like minus five here and you have to show me these pictures today. You hate me, don't you? What did I do to you?
Pffft!
I'm having a hard time liking you right now. It's ten degrees here, and it's pissing me off.
What a GORGEOUS place to live and play. Wish I had been there too!
Yep...looks like this in my neck of the woods...I don't miss Chicago winters one bit! And today was a beautiful day...ahhhh.
Hey, did you say Diego dressed himself today? Coooool.
i feel like you're gloating.
it was sunny here today. for like 29 seconds.
i shoveled five times in the last 24 hours. and defrosted my chickens' water three times.
my word is whinegr. like anger, but with whine.
: ( I have nothing to say from my snowy location. Except that you ARE dreamy!
YES...you are dreamy. My weather is close to the same. It is the only time of year that I can feel good about living in Florida.
I'm jealous of the balmy weather you're having. Typical January in So CA.
Ian flies in to San Francisco Sunday, then flies down to San Diego. He is SO excited to get 2 weeks of warm weather..... Right now its snowing here....
PS. Jason, you really do have perfect teeth!!!!!
Damn, damn, damn! I was REALLY looking forward to spending my winter in SoCal. But the job has been postponed. So we are headed to Raleigh, NC. What a let down!
Jea-LOUS!
Stomp stomp stomp...
okay, did you want me to hate you? LOL I don't even remember what the sun looks like! I've been too busy breathing in this dirty musty air!
You are SO dreamy!
I don't like a braggert...especially when I am cold and have been for many days in a row.
I would tell you to kiss my a$$, but your summer lips couldn't handle the freezing temp.
SEND US YOUR SUNSHINE!!! I'm getting very crabby!
Great pics Jason! I love SoCal. Just couldn't live there. But I hope to be visiting again soon.
It's been so nice lately. I posted a lot of beach photos today. I've never lived anywhere else - I think I'd die of frostbite or something cold-ish if I moved anywhere else. I honestly wouldn't know how to deal with cold.
oh, you suck to all those people who are living with the below freezing, snowy weather...you're a winter hater.
Did GC say he wanted to go out on a date without you some time soon? :)
We lived in LA (West Hollywood) for a time. Loved the winter and spring weather. The best thing was the celebrities. Stood behind Susan Sarandon at Pavillions while she and her assistant bought rolls of generic brand toilet paper.
I flippin' love you.
But really? I probably wouldn't so much right now if I weren't your sunny neighbor.
That'd hurt..... if I didn't live in Spain
You are dreamy. The neighborhood is gorgeous. But...
I wouldn't trade my snow and ice and bitter cold and autumn colors and falling leaves and budding flowers and hatching eggs and 4 complete seasons for anything!
Oh Liz, now you're just being silly. ;-)
Jason, you are dreamy. I've been on a Norwegian cruise once. Loved it. Loved Freestyle cruising.
Nice pics.
That's all I have to say!
Jason, I officially hate you. I got to work 10 minutes ago and I'm just starting to feel my toes.
definitely rubbing it in... it's colder than a well-digger's ass here. 13 degrees right now and my fingers are cold as i type this. have fun.
You ARE dreamy, and this post just cracked me up. Because here I am in sunny FL, and it's only 36 degrees right now!
Justine :o )
wow beautiful pics! i love seeing where you live. thanks for sharing..
it really appears to be a very lovely, peaceful place you live in.
c
Tranquil and serene. Lovely to live in that atmosphere. The good thing is that you appreciate it and don't take it for granted. Great place to raise kids and enjoy family. I am happy for you, Jason, and you deserve it. Do you feed the ducks? The huge red bows at the front of the one house are so cheerful.
I would send you a snowball, but it would just melt. It may get above freezing today.
I am doing deep house cleaning today and ran onto the newspaper articles about Rebecca's crash (from Queenopharump in November) and thought about you being in Logan at that time. Wow, time passes fast.
Gorgeous pictures! It's dark, dreary and rainy here... Oh yeah, I'm in Seattle, how else would it be?!
I'd miss the sled riding, but otherwise - you jerk!!!! :P
I'm so going to remember you did this when Southern California catches fire again come spring!
Just paid (another)$575.00 heating bill. Yes, that's for one month.
So nice.... can't tell you how jealous I am.... we are in a Deep Freeze in Atlanta tonight, and will be for the next several days. :(
I'm whining QUITE shamelessly about it on my blog, if you care to come feel sorry for me. :)
You are mean, but in a dreamy way.
Last year I could have written that post about Central Texas, but it's supposed to be yucky and rainy and down into the 30's this weekend. Yuck! Got room for a house guest? I'm on the way!
i love the houses... so pretty!!
I love me a little weather through the holiday season, but come January 2nd I am ready for Daylight Savings and flip flops!
Happy New Year to you, Jason!
So unfair. We're under 2' of snow right now and it's 10 degres.
Thanks for letting me tag along on your walk, Jason. It was lovely. Winter is my favorite time in Florida too. Oh and I think I'm going to make Diego my new fashion consultant. He looks pretty comfortable and stylish in that relaxed, cool kid, sort of way.
You ARE dreamy, by GOD. Happy New Year, my wonderful friend. I love living here, too. It's FABU when they dress themselves!
Thanks for being patient with me. I've been on and off blogging lately.
Rubbing it in? Pffft. I live in Florida, baby. And, yes, you are super duper dreamy. Even by the standards of Norway. Which are verrry high.
It seems just like the winters we get here in sub-tropical Queensland, Australia....love it! Btw, those lake pictures look very much like the lake I often take the kids to for an afternoon out. It has the bike/walking path all the way around and is beautifully landscaped too. And doesn't Diego look so cute on his scooter...Christmas present? OH, and you look cute too, in a dreamy kinda way ~ :)
Diego, Man of Fashion! You've got a charming neighborhood.
good morning, doll. i love seeing your sunny warm photos along with your smile. this is only my 3rd winter back home so i'm still ok with it all but the weather pixie is getting a bit bucky. good to see you! xoxo.
Lived in So Cal for the first 36 years of my life. We left 13 years ago. I do miss the always beautiful weather -but other than that - I'm good. When Oregon has great weather - it's spectacularly gorgeous.
Thanks for taking us on your walk. Diego just keeps getting cuter!
Happy New Year!
I am so totally and completely jealous of your weather Jason. I think I need to come for a visit. It is grizzly cold here : ) Is that a good adjective for that? Probably not.
Did I ever thank you for the I heart faces comment on their site? Thank you so much. That meant a ton to me!
PS LOVE that you had to throw the fact that Diego dressed himself in there : ) So funny!
***Bam***bam*** jealously deflected
I live in California, Silly.
IRRELEVANT: my son has that very same helmet
You suck. I'm wearing 37 layers and still cold with a hot rice pack in my bed with me.
Seriously? Awesome photos.
