Seis, Seis, Seis or It Wants to Peck Your Eyes Out

I was tagged by the ever funny Katy from Whatever to participate in the six, six, six meme. You know, the one where you go to your sixth photo folder, find the sixth photo, blog about it, and then tag six people to do the same.
Well, in case you hadn't noticed, I tend to cheat with memes. I always have to find some way to twist it so it will fit into my sick little scheme. Whatever that is. This time I began with all the good intentions in the world to this one correctly. But the sixth photo in the sixth folder was actually a photo of Diego at a playdate that I already blogged about a couple of summers ago. Nothing too significant. And I certainly wouldn't want to rerun a photo or a post.
So, I did the next best thing. I looked through my folders and came across a photo that I had intended to blog about, but never did.
This surreal photo was taken in Mazatlan. One of Diego's favorite passtimes there is to sit in the plaza next to the cathedral and feed the pigeons and doves. There are so many of them all swarming all around that if you have even the mildest aversion toward birds at all you would get a severe case of the willies and scurry into the cathedral for sanctuary. Giancarlo was shooting a whole series of photos while Diego fed the birds but we didn't realize what this one was like until after we got home.
.
Look at the bird's face! The eyes are staring right at you, intending to fly right up to your head and peck your eyes out.

Oooo, just like the Hitchcock movie! Creeeepy!

Daughter fed the pigeons at the big plaza (piazza?) in Venice and they were ALL OVER HER! She loved it but it gave me the creepy crawlies. Ugh. Nasty little bird feet all over...shiver.

LMAO! That is a crazy photo. At first I just saw the blur and thought it was some kids trying to pick pocket... Then BOOM! Bird in the eye. I can't even imagine what you were thinking at that moment (but I am sure it was funny!).

I am going to have to upload photos from my trip to London.

Outside of a church in Bath, a kid ran through the plaza and scared all the birds into flight. One came straight at me and I have a photo similar to this!

That is such a cool photo! Kira is going to totally freak out when she sees the picture! She would be one of those hiding in the cathedral.

I wish I was kidding when I said this, but as soon as I saw the picture I had to quickly scroll down to get it off the screen...and my heart is honestly pounding right now and I feel frantic and nervous. That is how afraid of birds I am. Those devil creatures sincerely terrify me.

Really cool pic and I love your twisting of memes. I get a little weirded out about pidgeons, we call them "sky rats".

I'm with most of the others, I HATE birds! They totally creep me out. Probably the result of watching The Birds at much too young an age! Damn you, Alfred Hitchcock! I didn't realize it was a bird until I read the text, though. I wish I hadn't gone back to look, cuz now I'm creeped out big time!

Just sent you an email, but noticed that you are with aol & they sometimes bump Mac/Apple people to the junk folder. The author of my last book post has offered to give a talk with your book group.... check the email :-)

P.S. I once wrote a post detailing my fear of birds so it took a great deal of courage to comment on THIS particular post! Damn Dinosaur Beast!

I grew up helping my Grandad look after his racing pigeons so I have a soft spot for them - especially the really raggy ones that wander around dragging a limp wing behind them.

Poor thing looks terrified.

That is a TRIP!

About a month ago, a bird literally flew into my car as I was driving. I was trying to avoid him but he was on a death mission.

He left a PERFECT dusty outline of his body, wings & beak on my car. It was unreal! I left it there at least a week, trying to show it to everyone who would look.

I should've taken a picture - DOH!

Didn't I just see you in the bathroom?

Hi! I'm delurking to say YES, this is (like many of your commenters have said) so Hitchcock! Which SSG can't type without giggling because, well YOU KNOW.

That bird gives me the creeps! I wanted to scream, "Run, Diego, RUN!

Off subject, I have attended mass in that cathedral a zillion times!

Now I wish I had not looked. I will probably have nightmares about that scarey bird.

I couldn't find the darn bird until I stared and re-read and then looked again. I thought you were spoofing us. LOL

Wow. I clicked on it and made it big and wow. As your lawyer (I just appointed myself, and you should immediately fire me), put a copyright notice on that photo (I actually think you already have that, so never mind the notice, but "mark" it so Bitches like me can't use it without your permission) and then sell that photo! It has got to be valuable to someone, someplace. Because wow. I'm going to go now and email a photographer friend of mine to look at it.

I think they are sneaky and want to peck my to death.

This photo confirms my suspicions.
