Due to the dreadful and depressing events of the past few weeks behind the scenes of The Jason Show, the producers have come up with a new recurring segment entitled An Agnostic Counts His Blessings. No matter how bad life can be, no matter how rock bottom you think you can sink, there are always those brighter parts of life that keep our heads above water.

Blessing #303
(Please note that the numerical listing of blessings have nothing to do with their order of importance---the numbers are sheerly arbitrary, and they will be large numbers since I'm sure there I have hundreds if not thousands of blessings.)

Hummus

I think it's goodness for you diminishes when you eat pounds at a time--which I could oh so easily do!
icky....not a fan here.....but glad you are finding these blessings :)
YUM!
...and yes, I'll be back intermittently (sorry) before coming back "full time"
My daughter called from Europe today raving about the amazing hummus she had been eating "with warm soft pitas". She now wants to open a pita/hummus store when she returns! I doubt if that will happen, but your post made me smile!
no thanks. maybe refried beans, not hummus. Amen
I've always wanted to try hummus. I don't think I'll like it, but I'm going to be optimistic about it.
I don't believe I've ever tried hummus. But suddenly I have a craving for hummus.
Oh my gosh we are obsessed with hummus here. My girls were both crying the other day because I gave them cucumbers without hummus. Amen to hummus lovers! :)
Yum! Slap that on a pita, cover it with cucumber and bean sprouts and I'm all over it. The rest of my family? Not so much.
I ate it for the first time at a party this summer. Of course I had no idea what it was when I dipped my pita chip into it. I knew it tasted like sun dried tomatoes. When I asked and was told I was pleasantly surprised !!
#!
YUCK!!!
Sorry, but I do not share this passion with you....I can't take even the smell of it. yuch.
Hi Jason, yes I found your blog on Twentyfour at Heart. I really like you're posts!
I love hummus too. I'm definitely with you on that one!
Isn't that stuff awesome? Although, I think I negate some of the good-for-you-ness b/c I like it best with tortilla chips. Is the hummus in the pic homemade? YUM!
Hm. I sure wish they would bust open samples of this at Henry's. I always see it, but the name of it turns me off. Hummus? Like it stinks so bad it hums? I dunno. I'm scared of it, but what you said it has in it, sounds kinda good. Hm. Dare I, or dare I not. That is the question.
I love hummus! But my kids.. the resident vegetarians.. will not eat it. They claim it tastes like armpits. In Italy they have a wonderful dish... dough made with garbanzo flour, olive oil, and salt, then baked like a pizza and drizzled with more oil. It was unbelievable! My kids wouldn't eat that either. Where did I go wrong?
AMEN...
Hummus is pretty much the ONLY protein source that I can get into my son.
LOVE hummus! A friend from the middle east showed me how to make it some years ago and have been making it ever since. Now I think I need to make some soon!
Uhmm . . . did you say mashed up beans? I don't do beans. Even though I've got a little Mejicana Mommy in my house . . . we make our Tex Mex sans beans.
You can eat my portion, have fun!
Can you believe that I have never tried hummus?! I need to get out more - don't I?!
Have a good week, Jason - nice to see you - Kellan
In my quest to get healthier, I recently found hummus. Mind you, I love the dukes' mayo (southern thing), but I LOVE HUMMUS! I started replacing mayo with it. Yummy! I still hate beens. Thanks for coming by my page. It took me a few days to recover :) Much love to you and your beautiful family. My thoughts are with you.
I loooove hummus! It's a vegan's best friend. :)
I'm laughing at these comments! I especially love the one who said her kids said that hummus tasted (or was it smelled?) "like armpits"!!
Well, I'm HERE TO SAY that hummus is DA BOMB!
Love that stuff! And - lucky me - no one in my house shares that passion so when I come home with some roasted red pepper hummus and some nice crackers, I don't even HAVE TO SHARE!! What bliss!
My husband and I love it, but our 18 month old can't stand it. If I'm eating veggies and hummus, he'll want some, but as soon as he puts it in his mouth, he makes terribles faces and literally scrapes it off his tongue with his fingers. It's actually pretty funny.
Perhaps Hummus is the OneTrueProphet, come to relieve us of all of our sins, and to be a model of goodness for humanity.
It's hard not to be a believer in something, when the world hurls the Divinity of Hummus at you.
Oh, Hummus, how we worship you! (And Cheez-Its, too, but only by accident.)
